Spring Front Porch
Happy May!
I am absolutely ecstatic to enter the season of outdoor entertaining. Decorating outdoor spaces and putting my fingers in the dirt is my all- time favorite. I am so thrilled to partner with Nell Hill’s this spring to bring you tips and tricks to get your spaces ready for warmer weather!
Front Door Basket

Earlier this spring I spied the most adorable door hanger baskets which inspired me to create my own version of a Grown Up May Day Basket for your front door. Nell Hill’s carries an amazing variety of faux greens and silk flowers in an adorable area of the shop that reminds me of a French Flower Market.
Nell Hill’s owner Katie Laughridge and I selected a basket full of darling materials from her shop including:
- Amaranthus Spray
- Thorwax Spray
- Dendrobium Drop
- Ranunculus
- Hydrangea

I am so in love with how fresh and pretty the front door looks!
Front Porch Decor

Creating outdoor living spaces makes my heart sing! I was over the moon when KCTV5 offered me the opportunity to film a Front Porch Makeover segment for the morning show Better Kansas City.
Spring Front Porch Televised Segment
Friends, I want you to give your outdoor spaces as much attention as those indoors. I like them to be beautiful, comfortable and inviting so that my guests will linger over a glass of wine and long conversation. As we enter the months of longer days, flip flops and warmer temperatures I encourage you to get out there and enjoy those decks, patios and porches!
Armed with a van full of gorgeous Nell Hill’s home furnishings and live plants from a local KC nursery we created a beautiful blue and orange designed front porch that packed a ton of curb appeal!
Planters
Morning host Bill Hurrelbrink and I filled four tall planters full of Thrillers, Fillers & Spillers!
- Orange Ranunculus
- Kimberly Queen Fern
- Asylum
- Viola
- Creeping Jenny
- Pussywillow

This front porch offered ample space to create seating areas which we filled with poufs, pillows, lanterns, plants, garden stools, rugs and accessories.
This combination of blue and orange is such a fresh twist on classic design. It was really fun to mix patterns to create a warm and welcoming entrance to a beautiful home.
Sending special thanks to Nell Hill’s and Better Kansas City. Sharing my love of design with you all fills my soul with joy! Aligning with partners in the Kansas City area who share these passions is icing on the cake!
Now – get out there, soak up the sunshine and enjoy the beauty that Spring has to offer!
